Nadia Elena Comaneci
It was at the Montreal Olympic Games 1976 that she scored one of the most memorable moment in the history of sports and that was the first ever perfect 10 for the asymmetrical bar. Then she scored six other perfect 10 which made her the most youthful Olympic all-around gold medalist at only fourteen years of age. The accomplishment of Nadia Comaneci was not only to draw worldwide attention; she also brought Romania onto the map. With a score that was unattainable, this sporting icon brought gymnastics into the spotlight of global interest. The sport also altered the perception of women athletes. Such was her impact during this Olympics that even the uneven bar event includes two movements named in honor of her toe-on and release, both of which remain classified as high-level and level. In addition to the Olympics the performance of her was exceptional in both World Championships (World Championships) and European Championships. Thus, becoming one of the world's most famous and well-known gymnasts. She also modeled and promoted sports gear after moving to the US.
